Rotate and remove the cross-shaped piece from the outer disc. You will find the movement very satisfying, both horizontally and vertically, creating a pleasant tactile experience as you solve it. When you're done, insert the cross and twist it until the arrow aligns with the HEX stamp on the outer ring.
